RVIA begins its strategic planning process
RESTON, Va. -- The RV Industry Association's Strategic Planning Committee will meet Jan. 12 and 13 in Tampa to update and revise the association’s long-term goals and objectives that will help guide activities in 2009 and beyond.
Committee Chairman Gregg Fore called the session an opportunity to re-tool the plan in light of current challenging market conditions.
“The industry is facing new challenges this year, and it’s time to
revise our strategic plan to reflect the new marketplace” Fore explained. “The committee will work to ensure that the plan maintains its fundamental long-term goals while redefining our short-term priorities.”
Fore also stressed the importance of a consistent review process. “The strategic plan is a living document that has proven to be a valuable guide for the association,” he said. “It must be continuously re-visited in order to ensure that RVIA’s activities yield the greatest benefit.”
The strategic planning committee will present its recommendations to the RVIA Board of Directors at its next meeting.
In addition to Fore, other committee members include Mel Adams, Airxcel; Walt Bennett, Thor Industries; Paul Eskritt, Fleetwood Enterprises; Doug Gaeddert, Forest River, Inc.; Norm Jacobson, Lance Camper Mfg. Corp.; Bob Olson, Winnebago Industries; Carl Pfalzgraf, Atwood Mobile Products; Jim Sheldon, Monaco Coach Corp.; Don Walter, Jayco, Inc.; and Richard Coon, RVIA. The six RVIA vice presidents will also be part of the meeting.
