General Coach consolidates Canadian operations into one entity
HENSALL, Ontario -- General Coach, with locations in Hensall, Ontario and Oliver, British Columbia, have formed one company, General Coach Canada, with head offices located in Hensall, Ontario. This consolidation strengthens the company’s position in today’s marketplace and to best serve its long-standing dealer networks and loyal consumer base.
With more than 58 years of solid Canadian craftsmanship, General Coach is one of the longest-tenured RV manufacturers in Canada. “This move will
ensure our success for the future,” says Roger Faulkner, president and general manager of the newly formed entity. “The marketplace is changing and our strategy, like any thriving organization, is to adapt and become an even stronger competitor within it.”
Up to the present announcement, General Coach Oliver and General Coach Hensall have shared some brand names, but have operated independently. Tom Snyder (Oliver) and Chris Faulkner (Hensall) are being promoted to vice presidents of sales in their individual areas. Sales staff in both locations will remain intact.
General Coach Hensall is known in Eastern Canada as the leading builder of superior quality park models. Its success in the current marketplace is attributable to its unique and appealing park model mix. In the new consolidation, the Hensall manufacturing facility will be better able to distribute their quality product line to dealers and developers in the West. To accelerate that opportunity, the Oliver facility will begin production of the same quality park models immediately.
General Coach Oliver is the only RV manufacturer in North America that guarantees its fifth wheels and travel trailers to -30 degrees C and certifies them for year-round living. The Oliver manufacturing plant will market its new and existing line of all season RV’s to all General Coach dealers, east and west.
Roger Faulkner has been involved in the manufacture, sale, set-up and regulation of park model trailers, mobile homes and recreational vehicles for more than 40 years. Roger has been a Director and President of the CRVA (Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association) and is one of the founding members of Go RVing, the marketing arm for the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Industry.
General Coach is a Thor Industries company. Thor is the world’s largest manufacturer of recreation vehicles and a major builder of commercial buses.
