RVs were a hit on morning shows last week
RESTON, Va. -- RVing was a hit on popular network morning shows this week, as news crews took time off from Presidential politics and Halloween features to highlight the RV lifestyle.
RVIA spokesperson and adventurer Brian Brawdy appeared Thursday morning (Oct. 30) on ABC’s Good Morning America to showcase his eco-friendly Lance truck camper and spread the word about affordable, family-friendly green RVing. As an avid RVer and dedicated environmentalist, Brawdy’s tips on what people can do to be more “green” are always popular. Brawdy made a point to note that 20 percent of RVs offer “green” features like solar panels as he talked about how RVing allows him to get off the beaten path and explore America.
On Oct. 29 edition of NBC’s Today Show, Al Roker spoke with a family of six - the Loud
family - who sold their house and possessions and took a year off to travel the country in an RV. The parents decided to hit the road because they believed that the best way to educate their children is by having them experience America.
The Loud family - comprised of parents Vern & Kati, daughters Auvi (14) and Zoe (12), and sons Kelby (10) and Conner (7), along with three dogs - are the stars of the new show "Six For The Road" on The Learning Channel (TLC). The show airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. and shows how the family balances homeschooling, runs an internet business, and navigates the RV culture. . .all while exploring America.
"It's a sign of the enduring appeal of our products and lifestyle to have two major network morning shows feature RVs in the same week during what is not a traditional travel season," said RVIA Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Gary LaBella.
